Simply back your vehicle up to the lunette ring or coupler – the built-in striker plate helps stop and center the lunette ring. Drop the ring down onto the ball and hook and let the auto-locking latch do the rest. Just install the secondary safety pin. This Secure Latch pintle hitch is also unique from other pintle hooks with its cupped design. Instead of letting the ring slop with every acceleration, brake and bump, the cupped hook holds the ring tighter fore and aft. This results in smoother, quieter heavy-duty towing. This Secure Latch ball and pintle combination is rated for 14,000 lb gross trailer weight and 10,000 lb ball capacity. It couples to a 2 in coupler or a lunette ring with a 2-1/2 in or 3 in inside diameter. It fits into any industry-standard 2 in receiver. It is constructed from cast iron that is austempered for excellent strength and resistance to wear. To protect this hitch from the elements, it is covered in a durable, dark gray teridium powder coat finish.
